The Rulebook

Tournament Overview

• ›Organised by the Selangor Basketball Association (SBA) and played under FIBA Rules 2024.
• ›Two divisions — Class A (elite, the main pathway to state selection) and Class B (developing teams).
• ›Preliminary round 30 May – 28 Jun 2026; finals 4 – 26 Jul 2026.

Player Eligibility

• ›Malaysian citizens aged 16 & under — born on or after 1 Jan 2010.
• ›Up to 15 players may be registered per team.
• ›Coach must register 12 players at least 30 min before each game.
• ›A player may represent only one team per category.

Game Format

• ›Four 10-minute quarters. Breaks: 2 / 5 (half-time) / 2 min. Overtime 5 min.
• ›First-half squad split: 6 players in Q1, a different 6 in Q2 (5 on court + 1 sub each).
• ›If a side has 4 or fewer for Q2, the opponent drafts a Q1 player and is awarded 10 points per missing player.
• ›Finals teams may add up to 2 players eliminated earlier in their zone.

Conduct & Punctuality

• ›Be at the court 30 minutes before tip-off.
• ›More than 15 min late without good reason = walkover to the opponent.
• ›No withdrawing after entry is confirmed; every match must be played out — no thrown games.
• ›Breaches may lead to disqualification.

Protests & Appeals

• ›Lodge verbally within 15 min; the captain signs the scoresheet.
• ›Submit a written protest with a RM300 fee to the zone chairman within 60 min of full time.
• ›The appeals committee's decision is final.

3×3 Side Event

• ›Played under FIBA 3×3 rules over a single day.
• ›Every 5×5 team must enter one 3×3 team; the event is not split by division.
