ATLAS BALLERS ON COURT.

Match Day Summary
HOW WE GOT ON.
Eight teams. Semifinals day. Here's the full rundown from Sunday, 17 May 2026 — for every player, parent and supporter who was there and those who couldn't make it.
U12B Atlas U12B 24 – 36 NLH L

The U12s were first on court on Sunday morning, closing out their season against NLH. The scoreline went against them, but there are clear things to take into the off-season and work on: boxing out on the boards, using the backboard, and sticking with your man on defence. Get those habits locked in and you will be a different team next season. Good effort to close the year.

U18B Atlas B 34 – 35 NLH L

One point. This was a Semifinal that came down to the very last possession — a single basket the difference between two evenly matched sides. Atlas B gave everything. Thirty-five minutes of basketball at Semifinal level, and it came down to one score. That is not a failure. That is elite-level competition, and this squad will carry that experience into everything that comes next.

U14B Atlas U14 Team 1 42 – 51 NLH L

This was a completely winnable game — and that makes it the most important one to learn from. The result came down to defensive rebounding. Too much ball watching, not enough boxing out. NLH had a star player who was being face-guarded, and when he forced difficult shots, our boys weren't in position to secure the board. Those offensive rebounds kept them alive in moments when we should have been closing the game out.

On the other end, there were some very good things — our guards drove well and found the basket. But finishing close to the rim needs work too. Use the backboard. When you are in close and under pressure, the glass is your friend. Take the emotion out of it and let the angles do the work.

Box out. Find your man. Use the board. Three things that will change results next season.

U14B Atlas U14 Team 2 25 – 36 Sanity BA L

The scoreline does not tell the full story. The first time these two teams met, Sanity BA blew us out by 30 points — a mercy-rule result. Today, the same Atlas U14 Team 2 held them to an 11-point margin in a Semifinal. That is the improvement.

What made the difference was the best collective performance we have seen from this group all season. Tight defensive effort, aggressive drives to the rim, and some genuinely great passes that carved open a Sanity BA side that expected an easy afternoon. They did not get one. This team pushed them every step of the way.

The Bronze Medal Match is still to come — there is hardware to play for. But whatever happens, this group of Alice Smith boys should finish the season knowing how far they have come. We cannot wait to see what next season looks like with this same bunch.

U16B Atlas U16 Team 1 45 – 26 NLH W

Not much needs to be said about this one — everyone did their job. Wey King was a presence on the boards, Ivan had it going from three and finished well at the rim, and the decision-making throughout was sharp enough that by the end, the boys were just out there having fun. That is what it looks like when a team is fully in control.

Lucas had limited minutes today — a deliberate call to give the bench players meaningful game time, and they delivered. 5th Place secured. Good way to finish the season.

U16G Atlas U16 Girls vs SJBC — W W

We will be honest: this one comes with mixed feelings. SJBC are allies. We know their head coach personally, and that relationship matters to us. This is not a result we celebrate the way we would a game won on the court.

But an 18-year-old was fielded in a U16 fixture — a game SJBC would likely have won regardless. When that happens, we have no choice but to stand up for our own girls. That is not a decision we take lightly, but it is one we will always make.

What we do know is that this group of girls has earned everything they have in this tournament. Shorthanded all season. Through injury. Through adversity at every turn. The Finals place belongs to them. We hope to settle things properly on the court with SJBC another day.

U16B Atlas U16 Team 2 39 – 38 KLTT W

This is what playoff basketball looks like. KLTT pushed Atlas U16 Team 2 to the very limit — thirty-nine to thirty-eight, one possession, and the boys refused to blink. Every defensive stop in the fourth quarter was a championship play. They found a way when it mattered most, and now they advance to the Finals (Div 2). That win belongs to every player on that squad.

U18B Atlas A 63 – 35 KBC W

Not much to analyse here. When you line up with Bennedict Ong — national team, 3x3 SEABA's number one ranked player — alongside Louis Khoo (state player), Aravind Vignesh (state and SUKMA), and a core of veterans from the KLBA U17 Hari-Hari Championship, the result was never really in question. Of course we were going to win.

63–35. The Finals await.

4 Wins  ·  4 Losses  ·  3 Teams into the Finals

To every player who took to the court today — this was Semifinals day, and you showed up for it. To the teams who came up short by one basket, one quarter, one moment: that experience lives in you now. Use it. To our parents and supporters at The Campus Ampang and ISKL — thank you for being there. These kids notice.
