Atlas opened Shelter Hoops on Wednesday against Sonic and came away with a 59–73 loss — a 14-point deficit that tells only half the story. For long stretches of the game, the boys were right there. They led at points. They competed. They showed exactly the kind of basketball that makes this group worth watching.
But momentum has a way of slipping when the little things go wrong, and on Wednesday, two things cost Atlas dearly: defensive lapses and poor shot selection. Sonic didn't outclass them — they just capitalised. Every soft rotation was punished. Every rushed shot off the dribble handed the opponent a transition opportunity.
The talent is there. The execution, on this occasion, was not.

If Wednesday was a wake-up call, Thursday was the response. Atlas came out against SS15 with a point to prove and left nothing on the table — a dominant 105–26 blowout that announced to the rest of the field that this team is not here to make up the numbers.
79 points. That's the margin. That's a statement.
The intensity was there from the opening tip. The defensive effort that went missing against Sonic returned with force. Shot selection was cleaner, the offence moved with purpose, and the team made it look easy — because when Atlas play like this, it is.

Friday at 5:00pm, Atlas face Triple Threat — who sit at 1-1 after beating SS15 34–58 on Day 1 before falling to Sonic 21–95 on Day 2. Triple Threat are beatable. The numbers show that.
Win this, and Atlas are through to the Semifinals. Lose it, and the path gets complicated.
The boys know what's at stake. After the response they showed against SS15, there's every reason to believe they'll show up ready. Clean defence, patient offence, and the same energy from tip to buzzer — that's all it takes.
